Our Tradition
For generations, the club has been a gathering place in Browntown. Founded by its original Italian members in 1902, the membership was able to purchase the lot we reside on from the Pennsylvania Coal Company. An additional side lot was purchased in 1973.
During the early years, the membership wasn’t able to afford to build a building for its club. After some deliberation amongst the membership, they purchased an old school that was in a tax sale, timbering the school and taking what they could to erect the building you see today.
Our hall floor is the original basketball court from the school and is still in place today.

The Browntown Italian Citizens Club, also known as the Italian Citizens Enjoyment Club, is a private members club centered on friendship, food, tradition and community. Our members enjoy an easygoing neighborhood atmosphere, weekly dinner specials, affordable drinks, club events, our catering hall and outdoor patio.
